La restauration de monuments comm\u00e9moratifs inspirera un nouveau sentiment de souvenir collectif. C\u2019est pourquoi notre gouvernement est fier d\u2019accorder son appui \u00e0 des projets qui saluent les sacrifices consentis par les anciens combattants, les v\u00e9t\u00e9rans et les hommes et femmes en service.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Je f\u00e9licite la Ville d\u2019Erin pour son d\u00e9vouement \u00e0 restaurer le c\u00e9notaphe de la ville, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M.\u00a0Chong. Aider les collectivit\u00e9s \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer leur lieu de comm\u00e9moration est un moyen pour notre gouvernement de s\u2019assurer que les Canadiens et les Canadiennes en apprennent davantage sur ceux et celles qui ont combattu au nom de la paix et de la libert\u00e9 dont nous jouissons aujourd\u2019hui.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>La Ville d\u2019Erin va restaurer son c\u00e9notaphe, \u00e9rig\u00e9 en 1956 en hommage aux hommes et aux femmes qui ont servi au cours de la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale, de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et de la guerre de Cor\u00e9e, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 ceux et celles qui sont morts en service depuis 1953. Les travaux pr\u00e9vus comprennent le remplacement des plaques pour corriger certaines erreurs et ajouter des noms.<\/p>\n<p>La subvention accord\u00e9e \u00e0 ce projet provient du Programme de restauration de c\u00e9notaphes et de monuments. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce programme, le gouvernement du Canada conclut des partenariats avec des groupes ou des organismes communautaires d\u00e9sireux d&rsquo;entretenir les c\u00e9notaphes et monuments du pays avec tout le soin et la dignit\u00e9 qui s\u2019imposent.<\/p>\n<p>Les demandes faites dans le cadre de ce programme sont accept\u00e9es en tout temps de l\u2019ann\u00e9e et \u00e9tudi\u00e9es tous les trois mois. Les organismes sans but lucratif peuvent \u00eatre admissibles.
