ELORA – Michael Chong, Member of Parliament for Wellington–Halton Hills, today announced $17,060 in funding for publisher Porcupine’s Quill Inc. of Erin.
The Government of Canada provides funding through the Support for Publishers stream of the Canada Book Fund . It will help Porcupine’s Quill continue providing Canadian readers with great books through its distinguished use of modern printing technology to replicate the quality look and feel of a nineteenth-century letterpress product.
“We are proudly supporting local Canadian publishers that not only enrich our community’s cultural life but also strengthen our rural communities,” said Chong. “Thanks to this support, readers will continue to enjoy unique books from creative and talented Canadian authors.”

Publishers in Canada generate over $2 billion in revenues each year. Through the Canada Book Fund, the Department of Canadian Heritage provides $36.7 million in funding each year to approximately 300 eligible Canadian book publishers and industry organizations.
