Federal Government Funds in Eden Mills Writers’ Festival
Eden Mills Writers’ Festival to receive $12,000 in federal funding through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund
FERGUS – Michael Chong, Member of Parliament for Wellington-Halton Hills, today announced $12,000 of federal money to help support the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund.
The Canada Arts Presentation Fund gives Canadians (CAPF) access to a variety of professional artistic experiences in their communities. The CAPF recognizes that arts presenters are key partners in achieving this objective by providing financial assistance to organizations that professionally present arts festivals or performing arts series, as well as their support organizations.
“For almost three decades, the Eden Mills Writer’s Festival has been bringing the best of Canadian literature to beautiful, bucolic Wellington County,” Chong said. “The federal government has been supporting the Festival for years, and this year, once again, is providing a grant to support this festival of Canadian writers.”
Every September, the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival showcases Canada’s exceptional literary talent through a series of workshops and author readings. For more information regarding the 2015 Eden Mills Writers’ Festival schedule, please visit: www.edenmillswritersfestival.ca
