Elora Festival to receive $90,000 in federal funding, over two years, through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund
FERGUS – Michael Chong, Member of Parliament for Wellington-Halton Hills, today announced that the federal government will contribute $90,000 in funding over the next two years for the 36th and the 37th Elora Festival ($45,000 for 2015–16 and $45,000 for 2016–17). This money comes from the Canada Arts Presentation Fund.
The Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF) gives Canadians access to a variety of professional artistic experiences in their communities. The CAPF recognizes that arts presenters are key partners in achieving this objective by providing financial assistance to organizations that professionally present arts festivals or performing arts series, as well as their support organizations.
“For years, the federal government has helped support the Elora Festival,” said Chong. “I’m delighted to see the federal government’s ongoing support for this world-class music festival that continues to showcase some of Canada’s finest musical talent.”
Over the past 33 years, the programming of the Elora Festival has encompassed classical, jazz and folk music, and has provided the residents of Wellington County and surrounding area with musical excellence in a rural setting.
