Kitchener Corridor Maintenance Work
THE LOCAL PROJECT
Metrolinx is replacing old track ties (wooden planks between the rails) along the corridor between Kitchener and Georgetown from March 28 to May 4. They anticipate that this work will begin near Park Street in Kitchener and head eastwards finishing at Main Street in Georgetown.
WHAT TO EXPECT
There will be some noise and vibration associated with the work. They anticipate completing up to 3km of work per night and don’t expect the work to last in any one area for a long duration. They will ensure any lights are directed away from homes when possible.
TIMING
The work can only be completed overnight from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. when there is minimal train activity.
Metrolinx is committed to keeping local residents and businesses informed about construction activities and minimizing potential disruptions related to this work.
