Ottawa, ON – On Friday, December 4, Conservative Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Michael Chong held a phone call with H.E. Keung Ryong Chang, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Canada, about Canada-Korea relations.

MP Chong highlighted several items with the Ambassador, including:

  • Canada’s longstanding ties to the Republic of Korea.
  • The new Canada-Korea free trade agreement.
  • The need for similarly-sized democracies to work together to counter rising authoritarianism around the world.

H.E. Keung Ryong Chang congratulated MP Chong for his appointment as the Conservative Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs. They discussed the incoming Biden administration, China, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, and how Canada and Korea could build closer bilateral relations, particularly in the area of trade and investment.
