Ottawa, ON – On Tuesday, May 11, the Hon. Michael Chong, Conservative Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a phone call with H.E. Sherry Tross, High Commissioner of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis to Canada about Canada-Saint Kitts and Nevis relations.
MP Chong highlighted several items with the High Commissioner, including:
- Canada’s close relationship with Saint Kitts and Nevis and other countries of the Caribbean;
- Conservatives’ belief in further developing trade and investment with Saint Kitts and Nevis; and,
- Conservatives’ belief in working with the democracies of the Caribbean on advancing democracy, human rights and the rule of law in multilateral fora.
H.E. Sherry Tross and MP Chong discussed House of Commons committee work, climate change, students from Saint Kitts and Nevis studying at Canadian post-secondary institutions and the establishment of a parliamentary friendship group. They agreed to keep in touch and to continue the dialogue on Canada-Saint Kitts and Nevis relations.
